Jacqui Gajewski
I am a mixed media artist, photographer, and fiction writer. I have been hiking, canoeing, and cottaging in Muskoka for almost 40 years. My love of the arts first began with Fine Art photography when I was drawn into the magic of the darkroom and began to experiment with painting, scratching, and bleaching photographs. From here, I dove into the realm of Mixed Media and began to explore the art of layering and collaging photo-based images with acrylic paint. After much experimentation, I quickly realized the power of telling a story through a visual composite and fervently pursued the possibilities of this medium, winning several awards for my artwork in Mixed Media competitions over the years. Since my retirement, I have begun to study painting more seriously and hope to expand my skills and knowledge in the field of acrylics and watercolour painting.
More recently, I have begun to exhibit my work publicly and am inspired every day to engage in my craft (both writing and painting) by the rugged beauty and windswept pines of Muskoka that surround me.
