Our member artists work in all types of media. Our group is comprised of a full range of skills; from creative individuals who are just beginning, to full-time professionals.

The Huntsville Art Society hosts events like community art shows and skill sharing workshops, held primarily in the Muskoka, Ontario region. We are a proud sponsor of a variety of community groups, and combine the exhibition of our members’ works with fundraising activities, resulting in contributions to charitable organizations throughout Muskoka.

We encourage you to get involved and be Part of Art, and participate in the many events and activities our members plan and organize.

Our Mission

The Huntsville Art Society is an incorporated not-for-profit art collective that encourages creativity and ongoing learning through networking and collegiality, while facilitating opportunities for promoting and growing visual and functional arts in the community.

Our History

The Huntsville Art Society was first established in Muskoka as the Huntsville Art Council when the Centennial/Summit Center was constructed. The group’s name changed to the Huntsville Art Crowd, and in 2009 a members’ vote determined its current name: the Huntsville Art Society. In the beginning this small group of enthusiastic artists and craftsmen met informally to share their common interest in visual arts. 

A volunteer Board of Directors was formed to provide leadership and direction. In 2007, the Huntsville Art Society became incorporated as a not-for-profit entity. The Board is reviewed each year at the Annual General Meeting, and is responsible for coordinating a number of art shows per year, researching new venues, providing information and networking to members, administration and accountability of club funds, bylaws and strategic planning for the future. We have at least six Board meetings per year and an all-member Annual General Meeting each fall.
