Ellie Thorel

Initially I studied Animation and Illustration at Sheridan College in Oakville and worked in the field of Animation for a few years before moving up to Muskoka where I spent most of my adult years. While raising my son, I found he had some medical challenges and I divided my time between advocating for him and running my art studio out of my home.
Eventually, I decided to go back to school and received my Bachelor’s degree in Nursing and had a fulfilling career in dialysis nursing and painted part-time.
Now that I am retired, I am able to devote my time to my craft.
“I hope to show through my art, stewardship for our environment and respect for one another. We have all been blessed with various talents and abilities. By studying the natural world around us, we can learn to tolerate our differences and work to preserve what is left of our forests and wildlife”.
