Call for entries: For the Love of Dogs
HAS member Mara Smelters Wier is curating a show for the Chapel Gallery in Bracebridge next September (2023) celebrating our love for dogs. It is not a show of portraits, rather paintings and sculptures of dogs engaged in eating, sleeping, spending time with friends and family, working, at play, etc. Basically, engaged in living, not posing. She is happy to accept submissions from people of all ages and levels of ability and hopes to be able to choose work that best reflects our affection for these family members. The show is entitled FOR THE LOVE OF DOGS.
The paintings and sculptures can be any medium. Any questions can be referred to Mara at firstname.lastname@example.org
Submissions will be accepted after January 1, 2023 at the above email address.
Call for artists: Huntsville Public Library and Hospice Huntsville galleries
It’s time to start looking at the 2023 show season! Huntsville Art Society members have two great opportunities to show their art – no hanging fee and no commission on sales!
The Huntsville Public Library
This is a great opportunity to get your work out there for public viewing! There is plenty of wall space and also an opportunity to show sculptures as well. Your profile, artist statement, and list of works will also be added to the library website for the duration of the show. Shows run for two months.
This is another great opportunity for HAS members to share their work with the staff and clients of Hospice. There is wall space for up to 6 pieces (depending on the size of course). Shows also run for two months.
Volunteer curator, Christina MacBean, will assist with the installation. All work must be ready to hang, and paintings on canvas must be wired.
For more details and available timeframes, please contact Christina at: email@example.com / 705-794-6875.
