Patricia Astley

I am a Canadian born artist and have been working in the Arts for over fifty years.

A graduate of Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD), I started active employment in 1971 with a school textbook company. I evolved into design and illustration for a display company that specialized in parade floats and stages for events and eventually began freelancing.

My art repertoire includes oversized 3D objects, enormous stage back drops, large scale signs and fantasy floats. One of my greatest passions was my involvement with Nuit Blanche Huntsville, aside from
illustration.

Today I have returned to my first love, Children’s storybook illustration.

My style presently consists of pages executed in coloured pencils, watercolour and sometimes coupled with line work.  My aim is to capture the audience with an atmosphere tied with emotion, curiosity and excitement.
