Jeannette Hay
Jeannette Hay was born in Montreal and educated in England where she studied Fine Arts and later studied Graphic Design at George Brown College, Toronto. She has always been inspired by the natural world and her move to Muskoka has only increased her passion for it. Now she works as a full time Wildlife & Pet Pawtrait Fine Artist in Huntsville under the joint umbrellas of her websites MuskokaArtRocks.com and Hayanimals.com where she specializes in wildlife and animal pawtraits created on Muskoka hand-picked river rocks, canvas or watercolour paper.
She works in various mediums depending on the creation type utilizing Watercolour, Acrylic and both coloured and graphite pencil. Over the years Jeanette has done over twenty-six solo and group exhibitions both in Canada and the USA. This has resulted in her being commissioned to create artworks for various print publications, magazine and book covers, as well as music CD covers. Her work can now be found in various private collections both in England, Europe, Canada and the USA.
Always interested in creating a stronger voice for artists she has founded various art groups both in Canada and the USA. She founded groups in Toronto and Vancouver here in Canada as well as in Los Angeles (where she lived for some years). They include Co-Founder of Artists for Human Rights, Canada; Founder, Artists for a Better World International Los Angels, CA USA; Co- Founder and later President, Toronto Artists for a Better World Toronto, Canada; Founder, The Artists Group Vancouver, BC; Co-Founder G.A.S.A – (Graphic Arts Students Association) George Brown College, Toronto, Canada. From these she also designed logos for the Artists For A Better World International and Toronto Artists For A Better World that are still in use today.
Her community activities have resulted in her producing various events and festivals such as The Artists For A Better World International annual festival, Hollywood, USA; The Toronto Artists For A Better World Annual Galas; The Celebrity Center Visual Artists Group Member Art Show; The Say No To Drugs, Say Yes To Life, Yonge Street Festival concert and the Riverside Festival to name a few.
Jeannette is really enjoying her time living and working in Muskoka surrounded by nature.
