Jane Haddad is the owner and designer behind J.W.H. Designs. Her lifelong fascination with stones began more than forty years ago and was shaped early on by studies in geology at Queen’s University. After a distinguished career as a professor in post-secondary education, Jane returned to her first love—working with the natural materials that sparked her curiosity decades earlier.
Now based in the studio rather than the classroom, she paints and creates jewellery and wearable art using semi-precious gemstones, glass beads, and stainless-steel wire. Drawing on both scientific appreciation and creative intuition, her work celebrates the beauty, history, and symbolism of the natural world. Through her designs Jane invites people to see gemstones not only as adornment, but as meaningful connections to earth, time, and personal expression.
