Resizing Images FAQs

Why do you only accept images up to 2MB?

As a website for artists, naturally, there are a lot of images uploaded! We want to make sure that the website can operate as smoothly as possible, and to do so we needed to make some choices about the size of all uploads – bigger uploads would significantly impact the browser experience on our current service. Thank you for understanding!

How can I resize my image manually?

Depending on what device you are using, some operating systems have built in programs for this!

For example, on a Mac, your image may open on “Preview” which has an “Adjust Size” tool built in. This is a manual way to adjust the pixels until the image shows as being under 2MB, so you can save a copy.

On a PC, you can use MS Paint to also manually resize an image by pasting it into Paint and selecting “Resize” in the toolbar.

How can I resize my image using an online tool?

There are plenty of free, no commitment websites that can help you resize your image in a few clicks and save the smaller MB image. These sites are not designed to store your information, but of course always do your own diligence to make sure (read their terms of use, etc). Below are a few websites that some of our artists use, and have had no concerns with to date – feel free to give them a try.
