I began landscape photography as a result of my wilderness travels. In 2010 a canoe trip down the Mountain River, NWT exposed me to some magnificent vistas. These views inspired me to bring home photographs of what I had witnessed. It became apparent that the pictures did not capture the emotion of what I had experienced. So I began a slow journey to learn more about photography and how the power of images can influence the viewer.
I had the good fortune to begin displaying my black and white landscapes publicly in 2018. The feedback has been encouraging, and I expect to continue improving my craft.
My goal remains to influence future viewers, to give them a glimpse of what I experienced. Perhaps the right image will move them to help preserve our land.
