This exciting\, new studio tour invites\nlocals and tourists to step inside the creative worlds of 26 talented artists across 14 unique\nstudios\, from Utterson to Huntsville\, Burk’s Falls to Limberlost and Dwight – offering visitors a\nunique opportunity to experience art in its natural habitat. \nDiscover Local\, Canadian Artistry\n“The Muskoka North Studio Tour features 26 juried artists\, with most studios hosting two artists\nto encourage variety at each stop.” says Karen Gray\, a local ceramic artist and owner of the\nPotter’s Studio & Gallery in Huntsville. \nThis year showcases:\n● Painters working in oil\, watercolor\, acrylic\, and mixed media—from bold abstracts to\nserene landscapes\n● Potters creating both functional and sculptural pieces\, including garden art\n● Woodworkers such as turners\, carvers\, and model birchbark canoes\n● Blacksmith crafting sculpture\, hardware and hooks\n● Textile artist creating watercolour art with wool\n● Jewelry designers producing wearable works of art\n● Sculpture artist transforming driftwood into sculptures \nA Tour Born from Community Spirit\nThe inspiration for the Muskoka North Studio Tour began with local painter Nancy McKinnon\,\nwho placed a call for interest in the Huntsville Art Society newsletter in 2024. “The response\nwas immediate and enthusiastic\,” says Gray. \n“There’s such an abundance of artistic talent in the north Muskoka region\, and equally\, an\nabundance of people—both year-round and seasonal residents—who truly value and support\nlocal\, Canadian art\,” says Gray. “With the loss of long-standing events like the Limberlost Studio\nTour and the original Muskoka Autumn Studio Tour\, it felt like the perfect time to create\nsomething new that would highlight this amazing community of artists.” \nWhat Visitors Can Expect\nThe Muskoka North Studio Tour offers an immersive experience into the creative process by\nallowing participants to visit artists’ studios. “It offers the chance for visitors to learn about the \nartists and the inspiration behind their work as well as watch demonstrations to see how it’s\nmade\,” says Gray. “It gives them the understanding of what goes into making art and that every\npiece is created with care and passion.” \nParticipants can spend the weekend immersed in creativity and discovery\, exploring the local\nregion\, often tucked within scenic landscapes. In a world dominated by mass production\,\nparticipants also have the opportunity to purchase original\, handmade\, local\, Canadian artwork.\nWhether you’re an avid art enthusiast or a curious traveler\, the tour is designed to connect\npeople with art—and to the people who make it. “Come on out!
